Endorsement Process

Winning Elections and Cultivating Champions

EnviroVoters recruits and helps people run for office who will fight for our environment and our future. We look for candidates who come from communities most impacted by climate change and help them win. We are proud to help change which candidates are considered viable and elect Black, Indigenous, people of color, women, LGBTQ, and young leaders into elected office.

We start early to help these candidates raise money, build a grassroots campaign, and win.

We’re winning races even when special interests outspend our candidates by huge margins. And we don’t stop there – we continue to work with our newly-elected officials, so they grow as environmental champions and ensure these victories turn into real policy change. These leaders are critical to our work at home and our role in leading our nation’s fight against climate change.

EnviroVoters’ endorsement requires completion of a candidate questionnaire and candidate interviews. Candidates who are interested in our endorsement should contact our Senior Political and Organizing Director Mike Young at mike@envirovoters.org as early as possible to inform us of your candidacy.

Note: Local league endorsements are made separately.
