AB 823 – Senate Environmental Quality Committee
Reducing Microplastics by Banning Plastic Beads & Glitter in Personal Care Products
AB 823 would have tackled microplastic pollution by banning the sale and distribution of personal care and cleaning products with microbeads and plastic glitter. These microplastic contaminants pose serious health risks, including DNA damage, immune disruption, and toxics exposure–especially for women and children–and threaten wildlife and ecosystems.
